I woke up this morning to find out that Nintendo will be releasing a miniature, authentic NES system this holiday season, which will come with 30 ready-to-play NES games that will cost $60 total. All you have to do is plug it in, and start playing.

Don't get me wrong, this is actually an excitement for me, and maybe for you too. But before you plan on buying this, there are some things that you should know...

:bulletred: This NES cannot take your old cartridges and play them.
:bulletred: The NES Controller ports are different this time, so you cannot use the original NES controller if you still have them.
:bulletgreen: On the bright side, the new ports for the Classic NES controller can even be plugged into a Wii Remote so you can use it to play Virtual Console games on your Wii or Wii U.
:bulletgreen: This new NES system actually supports full HD compatibility. THIS right here is a HUGE plus!

Well Nintendo, I'm actually very glad that you decided to officially warp back in time by doing something like this. Sega, Namco, and a bunch of other companies have done it, but it's about time that you did it as well. I definitely have a new kind of respect for you because of that. However, this new NES system does have some downsides compared to what the original NES had back in the good old 80's. Since the classic systems are being brought back through time with some modern technology installed to it, I'm just going to overlook the cons of the new NES, and be happy for the whole time warp thing.

To those of you who play the Virtual Console on whatever system you have, you are better off just sticking with that. However, if you don't have either a 3DS or Wii U, and/or if you want something that's inexpensive and easy to plug in and play for some classics, then this new NES is definitely for you.

This new NES is $60 with 30 NES games built in. Is it actually worth the money? Only you can answer that.

get that time wrap portal running, the NES is on its way to the present!

It can't read old cartridges? Now you can't play Wrecking Crew, Pinball, Donkey Kong 3, and Battletoads, what a shame

besides, it's so small it only fits in your hand...
